Brett and Julie- Wedded Bliss

Alright everyone! The long awaited Brett and Julie photos have arrived! Sorry it's taken me so long to get them edited and blogged! It was such a lovely day and I had the most wonderful assistant, Jenny Marvin and the whole day went pretty smoothly! (Except for the part where my flash malfunctioned and my awesome friend Matt happened to have brought his flash, the exact same one I had been using! :) Matt saves the day. :)

Julie was glowing all morning while she was getting ready to marry the man she loves and Brett was looking pretty stellar himself!

Brett and Julie painted a picture of the mountains together instead of pouring sand or lighting a unity candle. It was very fun and turned out so nice!

Julie and some of her friends kickbox! Good thing Brett and the boys were behaving most of the day... ;)

The reception was held inside of a big barn that has been converted for parties and such. There was lots of room for dancing and grooving.

And....everyone meet the BLSGIL Sheep! This little furry friend of the "Best Little Small Group in Longmont" is a world traveler and happens to be the BLSGIL mascot. He was an important character in this day!

And introducing...BLSGIL! The group plays kickball, and if you remember Brett and Julie's engagement session, they met that way! We had to break out the shirts for Julie on her special day.

So, of course, since Brett and Julie fell in love on the kickball field, we had to play a little at the wedding! Go Julie, Go!

 Then it was time for them to make their exit! 

Congratulations and MANY MANY happy years to you both! You are so dear to my heart!

Busy Weekend!

Hello All!!!

It's been a busy and exciting weekend for me! Our friend Brian has been in town all week helping Sid shoot some video footage for a few projects that PostMay has going, and I got to spend three of the three weekend days I had doing photography related things! How fun!

Friday, I am excited to announce---I booked a second wedding! In July, I will be sharing in Brett and Julie's special day, and helping to preserve some of the special moments for them FOREVER! We are going to do an engagement shoot on Saturday, and I'm super excited!

Saturday night, I was lucky to be asked by Jared of Jared Wilson Photography to assist him in shooting an Engagement Party at Mile High Station in Denver. That was definitely fun, and I do adore that building!! I helped Jared shoot a wedding there last July.

Then on Sunday, I was blessed to be able to spend the ENTIRE DAY with family, shooting my nephews' soccer tournaments. Sid's mom and her hubby were even in town, so we got EXTRA family in the deal! Even better. :)

Productivity!

Time for a new blog post! It's been a while!

Today is Sunday and I intend to fill it with many productive activities! I went to church yesterday and this morning I got up ready to go! I have my list in hand and have already knocked out a few of my items! :) Feels great to be productive.

A couple of items on my list...

• Gather recipes for the week
• Edit photos from Coors Brewery tour
• Work on a wedding questionnaire
• Research which flash I plan to buy- and how to use it!

I'm shooting a wedding in October (so excited!!) and I have decided that it's time I purchase a flash. I've done mostly daylight shoots so far and haven't really had much need for a flash. I'm looking at the Canon Speedlite 430EX II.

I'd love to get the 580EX II but realistically at this point I don't need it. The 580 has the ability to be the "master" and control other flashes and the 430 only has "slave" capability, but I am not ready to get into that yet.

Sooo...

I'm also working on creating a questionnaire to give to the bride and groom that will help me shoot their wedding better. I will ask them questions such as-

• Describe the order of your ceremony, from getting ready to exiting the reception.
• What is the name of the officiant and may I contact him/her to obtain rules for the church/building/area in which your wedding will be held?
• How many are in your bridal party?
• What formal photos are most important to you?
• Is there a coordinator or "second in command" person I can communicate with on the big day so as to not interrupt you from enjoying your ceremony and reception?

Then there's always the less exciting, everyday routine things such as brushing/flossing, taking the dog outside, and making some lunch! lol Yeah, I know not everyone talks about that kind of stuff on their blog, but what can I say? Good oral hygiene is super important! ;)

And because it just feels wrong to end this post without a photo...I leave you with Maverick! 

He belongs to my (used to be) neighbor, Becca. He and my dog were the best of pals, and at times, Carter still looks for Maverick when we come back up the stairs from going outside. ::sigh::

Chrissey + Kevin

A lot has been going on lately! Sorry it has taken me so long to get these photos posted of this lovely couple! As you saw in my last post, I lost my entire Lightroom library setup. Unfortunately it took me the better part of a week to get it all reorganized and back up to par! But, now I am back in the game!

Chrissey and Kevin were wed at the beautiful Devil's Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, CO very near Winter Park. My friend Jared Wilson asked me to second shoot for him again and I gladly obliged! Chrissey and Kevin had a beautiful wedding with a special, intimate ceremony conducted by friends and family. Fun was had by all and it was definitely a beautiful beginning to the lifelong journey that these two have begun.

The wind was out in full force and kept catching Chrissey's train, which made for some really neat photos.

The decorations were beautiful and no detail was left unattended. Everything went off without the slightest hiccup and everyone looked beautiful and classy while it was happening!

It was truly a beautiful evening, and one I'm sure Chrissey and Kevin will never forget.
